Counter Total Rewards Program, Explained Simply

Share Post:

Counter just launched something really exciting and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the new Counter Total Rewards program! I haven’t seen any loyalty rewards program quite like this and I love that Counter is showing up with something innovative and fun for their customers and partners!

Counter Total Rewards is brand spankin’ NEW as of this writing this so not everything is totally ironed out just yet and I am sure there is a lot more to come but let’s chat about all the things you need to know right now, shall we?! 🙂

If you’ve been wondering what Counter’s new rewards setup actually means, here’s the short version: the Counter Total Rewards program is free, and rewards are earned automatically when you do certain things to achieve “progress” which are basically points.

You can earn progress by referring a friend, joining as a partner, and of course when you shop among other things! It is a really cool way to connect with the brand, enjoy your favorite products, and amplify the mission of getting clean beauty into the hands of everyone!

Once you know the three key words of the new Counter Total Rewards program, the whole system starts to make sense.

Are you ready to start racking up that Progress?! Make sure you are signed up as a Counter Loyalist so you can start tracking!

The following content may contain affiliate links which means I might earn a small commission when you make a purchase. This is at no extra cost to you (think of it as a high-five for pointing you in the right direction). And just so we’re clear,  I only recommend products I genuinely love, use, and have thoroughly vetted.

How does the Counter Total Rewards program work?

At its core, this is a purchase-based rewards program. You shop, your account earns Progress, and that Progress helps unlock rewards and higher Standing over time.

This isn’t a paid membership. It’s more like a running total that grows with your orders and gives something back when you stay consistent.

The other awesome part about the Counter Total Rewards program is that you can also earn Progress through things other than just purchases that you are likely already doing like sharing about the products you love with a friend or engaging with the brand on social media, etc.

There are all kinds of different ways to earn Progress and the Progress (points) then get turned into exclusive loyalist content, gifts, and early product launches just to name a few of the benefits.

You choose how you want to “spend” your Progress!

Shop as usual, build Progress, move up your Standing, then use rewards!

Progress, Standing, and the Rewards Palette

Think of Progress as Counter’s reward currency. As you engage in eligible activities, you build Progress in your account.

Standing is your level. The more Progress you earn, the higher your Standing goes.

As a Counter loyalist, you access the first, second, and third standings which each has it’s own set of benefits! Higher Standing opens more perks, not only more reward value.

Then there’s the Rewards Palette. This is the collection of benefits, offers, and reward choices available to you.

In simple terms, Progress is what you earn, Standing is where you land, and the Rewards Palette is where the fun shows up as you get to choose what matters to you!

That setup is helpful because it gives you a cleaner picture of what you’ve earned. Instead of wondering whether a one-time credit is about to disappear, you’re looking at an account that grows as your loyalty grows.

For women over 30 who want a simple, consistent routine, this is such a win! Your cleanser refill, mascara replacement, or body lotion order doesn’t feel random anymore.

It moves you forward. Progress, baby! Genius, really!

The spending thresholds that matter most

Counter’s current Standing framework uses five levels. As your Progress increases, you move through the tiers.

Here’s the basic structure:

StandingProgress rangeWhat to know
First Standing0 to 499Your starting level, Progress begins building here
Second Standing500 to 999More perks start to open up
Third Standing1000 to 1999Rewards continue to grow
Fourth Standing2000 to 3999Higher-level benefits become more meaningful
Fifth Standing4000+Top Standing for the year

The most useful detail is this: the highest Standing you reach in a year carries into the next calendar year. So if you hit a higher tier later in the year, you don’t lose it the minute January rolls around.

That’s a nice shift for steady shoppers. You don’t need to place giant orders all at once. Small, regular orders can still move you up over time.

There is one July update longtime customers should know. If you already had an existing Counter product credit balance, it converted automatically into Progress on July 1. No extra action required.

What you get with Counter total rewards

A rewards program only matters if the perks are useful in real life. Counter’s version includes practical benefits first, then adds more personal extras as your Standing grows.

Some perks apply broadly. Others are reserved for partners or for higher Standing levels. That part matters, especially if you share the brand with friends, clients, or an online audience.

It is truly the best time to become a partner with Counter as the fourth and fifth Standing levels are only available to partners and have incredible rewards like gift boxes, discount codes to share, and more. Partners also earn 40% commission on new customers and 20% on returning customers plus bonus opportunities and other fun ways to get involved and move the mission forward.

Automatic savings, credits, and free shipping

The easiest benefit to understand is free shipping on qualifying orders. Counter materials show free shipping on orders of $50 or more across all Standing levels, which is great if you tend to restock a few staples at once.

There are also rewards that build toward future purchases. These are meant to be used on later orders, not treated like direct cash back. That’s an important mindset shift.

If you’re someone who replaces the same few clean beauty products on a schedule, this can feel pretty satisfying. Your repeat purchases are doing double duty. You’re getting the products you need, and you’re building value for the next order.

For partners, the savings side can go further!

Bonus perks that make the program feel more personal

This is where the program starts to feel less transactional and more impactful!

You can tell Counter really created Counter Total Rewards with thought and intention.

There are extras like annual birthday gifts, early access to select launches, and early access to some promotions.

Counter also describes the Rewards Palette as evolving, which means the perk mix can change over time. That’s worth checking from time to time, especially around major launches and seasonal campaigns.

Partner benefits and shareable rewards

If you’re a Counter partner, or you’ve thought about becoming one, the new program keeps several familiar income and sharing benefits in place.

Commission on attributed customer sales continues. Personal sales bonuses continue too. The longer-term customer connection also stays in place, which matters if you’ve built trust with repeat buyers.

What changes is how some rewards are packaged. Instead of a monthly discount code tied to a sales threshold, partners can earn a Standing-linked discount that grows with them.

There are also shareable savings codes in the mix. Depending on Standing, partner materials show two, four, or six 15% off codes to share. That’s a practical perk if you like offering a little nudge to friends or followers who want to try clean beauty.

If you’re still deciding where to buy Counter beauty products, shopping with a brand partner can add support, product guidance, and better awareness of upcoming launches.

How the new program compares with the old Counter benefits

If you’ve shopped with the brand for a while, the new setup may feel unfamiliar at first. That’s normal.

The old format leaned more on product credit and older loyalty-style benefits. The new one puts more attention on Progress, Standing, and a clearer year-long path.

What stayed the same and what improved

The basic idea is still familiar. Loyal customers get rewarded. Partners still have ways to save, share, and earn. Promotions and product perks are still part of the picture.

What’s different is the structure. Existing product credit moved into Progress on July 1, which cuts down on the feeling that you have one system for shopping and another system for rewards.

Partner materials also show upgrades in the reward mix, with perks like free product opportunities, an annual gift box, and priority support appearing in the newer framework. Higher personal order savings, including 20% and 25% at certain levels, are part of that bigger picture.

Is Counter Total Rewards worth it for clean beauty buyers?

Heck yes! If Counter is part of your regular routine or you’d like it to be then Counter Total Rewards is definitely worth it. It is totally free to sign up as a loyalist and start earning progress right away. Who doesn’t love a fun challenge too?

Best fit for shoppers who repurchase regularly

This program makes the most sense for women who already rebuy skincare and makeup on a normal schedule.

Maybe it’s your daily cleanser. Maybe it’s mascara every few months, body care, SPF, or a foundation you know works for your skin. Those repeat purchases can stack Progress faster than you think.

That’s why the program fits clean beauty buyers so well. Once you find formulas you trust, especially in your 30s and beyond, you tend to stay loyal. Your routine gets smaller, but more intentional.

In that kind of routine, automatic rewards feel useful, not gimmicky, and you can also be rewarded for your passion in the mission.

The easiest way to think about Counter’s new rewards system is this: Progress is what you earn, Standing is the level you reach, and the perks grow as you keep shopping. If Counter is already part of your clean beauty routine, that setup can feel simple and worthwhile.

For longtime customers, the July change brings old credit into the new system without extra hassle. For newer shoppers, it offers a low-pressure way to earn rewards from the start.
