I had recently been searching everywhere for a safer deodorant and one without any aluminum specifically. This is how I first discovered the Beautycounter Clean Deo and decided to try it after reading some of the reviews online. I immediately fell in love because the Beautycounter Clean Deo is safer – no aluminum – it smells amazing, AND it actually works!
I must admit I was shocked at first because I’ve tried so many different deodorants that just did not seem to work for me. I had not been able to find a safer deodorant that actually worked to help limit sweat and keep me smelling so fresh and so clean after searching for more than a year! The other really cool thing I like about the Clean Deo is that it is refillable and sustainable which is pretty neat!

Beautycounter Clean Deo Review
Beautycounter Clean Deo’s formula has been in the making for the last five years! It comes in four different scents that all smell amazing! The scents are Clean Rose, Soft Lavender (my personal fav), Fresh Coconut and the newest member of the club Crisp Sequoia! By making the Beautycounter Clean Deo refillable, they were able to reduce its water use, fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 47%! The best part about the Clean Deo is that IT WORKS! The Clean Deo definitely lives up to its claim to absorb sweat and fight body order while also helping to soothe your skin. A little goes a long way and you don’t need much to keep you feeling fresh all day long! It also doesn’t leave white residue which is key! One thing Beautycounter also does is they are very transparent about their ingredients and what is in the fragrances, something you don’t always see with other brands.
What makes Beautycounter deodorant safer (and so good!)?
Beautycounter Clean Deo is formulated without aluminum and Beautycounter does not use any synthetic fragrances which can be known to have serious health effects. The key ingredients are cornstarch (non-GMO), baking soda, coconut oil, shea butter, candelilia wax and beeswax.
One thing to keep in mind is that it can take a little while for your body to detox from any toxins that are trapped in your sweat ducts so at first it might seem like the deodorant is not working but trust, if you stay the course, you’ll be super happy you did! A tip I have heard but did not try myself was to use Beautycounter’s Charcoal Mask under your arms to help with the detox process. Hey, it might be worth a shot! 🙂 It is totally normal to notice a little bit more odor when you first start using a new deodorant though so don’t freak out about that!
